After the Storm

New Year's Day in the Grand Canyon after a snowstorm New Year's Eve. Last of the storm breaking up, the interplay of light and shadow showing the amazing depth and texture to the landscape of the Grand Canyon, not visible on sunny days. Photographed with large format 4"x5" film.

This particular image is 15" x 30" photograph on archival paper using pigmented archival inks. The image is mounted to 3/16" Gatorboard, a matte lamination applied to the surface that breaks up all light and thus no glass is used. Image is framed in a wood frame with linen liner, adding 2.5" to each side. Overall wall-space size is 20" x 35". All preparation materials are archival. The image is signed/numbered in lower right corner from edition of 150.
