Four years in the making, this beautiful sugar maple (Acer sccharum) tree in full autumn color in the northern part of the lower peninsula of Michigan, south of the Mackinaw Bridge. It took four years to get the depth of the autumn colors on this - guessing here - about 120-130 year-old sugar maple trees. I title it "Sheltering Arms" as it is like a friend I can go sit under (and did!) that would protect me from all that came to pass.

As all my images, this comes in a variety of presentations: print only, notecard, matted, gallery-wrap canvas and framed. They come in many sizes and can be custom-sized (virtual fitting) to your wall space. Contact me and I will guide you on selections!

This particular image is a 20"x40" photograph on archival paper using pigmented inks. It is mounted to 3/16" Gatorboard with a matte lamination applied to the surface that removes all light reflection and removes the need for using glass in the framing. All preparation materials are archival. The frame I use is a wood frame with a linen liner, the combination adding 2.5" in each direction. Thus, the outside dimensions (wall space taken up) is 25" x 45". The image is signed/numbered in lower right corner from edition of 250.
